Gynecologic cancers claim the lives of thousands of women each year but many are not aware of the signs and symptoms of these cancers. Let Every Woman Know – Alaska is dedicated to raising awareness, sharing information and saving lives through local education of all Alaskans and support for those women living with gynecologic cancers. My sister, Mary Rita Ely, is a 9 year, ovarian cancer survivor as of November 1, 2015, but the survival rate for ovarian cancer is only 15%.
Natural Doctors International is the oldest naturopathic global health organization in North America. Our work of more than a decade has brought integrative healthcare to the underserved by providing an opportunity for naturopathic physicians, licensed acupuncturists, integrative MDs, nurses and other health care practitioners the opportunity to serve and collaboration wtih our larger global community.
Our policy work creats a space for dialogue on the value of naturopathic, integrative and traditional medicine in global health policy and has been integral to the formation of the World Naturopathic Federation. Our collaborative model promotes responsible volunteerism and brings together change makers working towards solutions to health – mind, body, spirit, individual, community, planet.
Since 2005, NDI has collaborated with the Nicaraguan Government, MINSA, and the local community of Ometepe, to run a naturopathic clinic. That clinic has provided over 25,000+ patients free naturopathic integrative primary medical care by volunteer naturopathic physicians and CAM providers and donated $500,000 USD of medicines. Our CE course, Global Health in Natural Medicine, has graduated more than 500 students and physicians and remains the leading course within its field to train students, interns and physicians in global medicine.
Imagine a world with dignity, justice, and peace for all.
A world with the tools to challenge the spiral of war, poverty and environmental devastation. And a world where we apply these tools to our own lives as well as our larger society. Our mission is to foster a just and peaceful world through nonviolence education, community-building, and action.
Pace e Bene is bringing that world into being one person, one group, one organization at a time.
Pace e Bene’s vision is rooted in the spiritually grounded practice of active nonviolence. For Pace e Bene, nonviolence is an effective principle for social change – and a powerful way of life. For two decades Pace e Bene’s unique approach has been transforming lives and reaching people around the globe. Since its founding in 1989, over 30,000 people have taken 700 Pace e Bene workshops to gain tools for more healthy relationships and to create a new society.
Together we work with individuals, organizations, and movements to strengthen their efforts to abolish war, protect human rights, end poverty, challenge injustice, heal the planet and to meet today’s profound spiritual task: to build a more just, peaceful and nonviolent world.
The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.
